Summer Dance Intensive

Artistic Moments:
Power, Passion, Pose
with Hunter Museum of American Art

This year’s summer intensive has a special focus on choreography and art.  Along with their pre-professional classes in various forms of dance, students will have the unique opportunity to create site-specific dance work at The Hunter Museum of American Art.  Taking inspiration from the works in the museum, specifically their new exhibit, “Power, Passion, Pose: Photographs by Ken Browar and Deborah Ory” showcasing internationally-renowned ballet dancers, the choreographic process will be guided by experienced instructors. Dancers will show their work on Saturday, July 24th at noon in a live performance at the museum.

Missed the auditions on April 24th? No worries, alternative auditions  are allowed, just contact the office

My daughter loves to dance.  She attended the camps last summer, and is halfway through her second year of ballet classes.  One day last summer, as Beethoven blared on the radio in our backyard, she spontaneously began to dance, spinning and bowing as they'd taught her.  It's beautiful to see a tiny little girl dance with elegance and grace.  And she loves it.
