Ballet Camps

Jewels Ballet 

Pre-Primary – Level IV

(3-12 year-olds) 

June 7th-11th  

Experience the sensational ballet, Jewels, choreographed by George Balanchine in 1967. Dancers of all levels will discover this modern classic as they learn all the elements that are required for a production. From advertising, programs, costumes, and props, the dancers create it all! Family and friends will be delighted with the variation of the Jewels; Emeralds, Rubies, and Diamonds, at the Friday performance on June 11th. Ballet dress code is consistent with our school, but dancers may wear any color leotard (for girls) or shirt (for boys).

La Bayadere Ballet 

Levels Pre-Primary – Level IV

(3-12 year-olds)  

June 21st- June 25th 

 

Dancers of all levels will be swept away in this fantastical story of La Bayadere! Campers will learn about the story, choreography, costumes, music, and dancers associated with this classical ballet over the past 100+ years. A mini version of the ballet will be performed on Friday, June 25th. Ballet dress code is consistent with our school, but dancers may wear any color leotard (for girls) or shirt (for boys).

Modern Dance 

Levels I – IV

(7-12 Year-olds)  

June 14th-18th 

Dive deep into modern dance, Limon-based technique this week as dancers learn to use the breath throughout the body, play with the dynamics and weight of movement and find fluidity from one movement to the next. Dancers are sure to transform their quality of dance and technique as they prepare pieces for their Friday performance and learn more about modern dance history and the fantastic performances of the Limon Dance Company.

Bob Fosse
Jazz Dance  

Levels I – IV

(7-12 year-olds)  

June 28th-July 2nd 

Time to pull out those jazz hands and learn about the choreographer who created them! Dancers will study the life and dance styles of Bob Fosse and many of his creations like, Chicago, Pippin, and Sweet Charity. Dancers will dive deep into jazz dance history and help create pieces for the Friday performance. Jazz Dance dress code is consistent with CDT school dress code.   

Tiny Dancers (Only) Camps

Carnival of Animals 

Levels Pre-Primary – Primary

(3-6 Year olds)  

June 14th-18th 

Get ready for a wild time as dancers experience the classic and comedic music of Carnival of the Animals! Dancers will participate in creating their own ballet as they figure out how to dance like a lion, kangaroo, tortoise, or any of the other 14 animals that are represented. Dancers will make their own costumes, and crafts to help with the Friday production. Dress code is consistent with our school, but primary dancers may wear any color leotard (for girls) or shirt (for boys).

Pirates and Mermaids  

Levels Pre-Primary – Primary

(3-6 year-olds)  

June 28th-July 2nd 

 

Pirates and Mermaids come to shore in this week-long adventure! Dancers will have a blast with this beach themed camp that explores dance class, rehearsal, crafts, and games. Be ready for a swimming good time at our Friday performance! Dress code is consistent with our school, but primary dancers may wear any color leotard (for girls) or shirt (for boys).
