Children's Dance Camps 2020

For Ages 3-12

Covid-19 Update

We are currently accepting registrations for Children's Dance Camps in June.

If we are unable to operate, we will refund any payments made for Dance Camps. 

Pre-Primary Mini Camp

For ages 3-4. No dance experience necessary.

Monday and Wednesday: 9:15-12:15

Friday: 10:30am- 12:30pm, performing at 12:30pm.

Students should pack a snack Monday and Wednesday.

 

Cost: $80 per week

Early Bird (register and pay by May 21st): $70 per week

Combining dance and crafts, young dancers will learn about all that goes into a production. Dancers will create their own poster, programs, costumes, and props on Monday and Wednesday to perform for family and friends on Friday of each week. Dress code for girls includes pink tights with pink ballet shoes, or skin-colored tights with skin-colored ballet slippers, a solid color leotard, and hair pulled into a bun. Skirts are optional. Boys’ dress code requires black leggings, black, or skin colored ballet shoes, and a solid color shirt.

Themes for each week:

June 1st-5th: PJ Mask

June 8th-12th: Peter Pan and Fairies

June 15th-19th: Frozen

June 22nd-26th: Paquita Ballet

Primary Dance Camp

For ages 5 and 6, no experience necessary.

Monday-Thursday: 9am-12noon

Friday: 10:30am- 12:30pm, performing at 12:30pm.

Students should pack a snack Monday-Thursday.

Cost: $120 per week

Early Bird (register and pay by May 21st): $110 per week

Combining dance and crafts, young dancers will learn about how to put on a production. Along with learning about the dance history, students will create their own poster, programs, costumes, and props for their performance for family and friends on Friday of each week. Dress code for girls includes pink tights with pink ballet shoes, or skin-colored tights with skin-colored ballet slippers, a solid color leotard, and hair pulled into a bun. Skirts are optional. Boys’ dress code requires black leggings, black, or skin colored ballet shoes, and a solid color shirt. Dancers are required to pack their own “stage make-up” on Thursday and Friday for practice.

Levels I-II Dance Camps

For ages 7-10

For dancers who have completed Levels I or II at Chattanooga Dance Theatre.

Also appropriate for:

  • all 7 and 8 year-olds regardless of dance training

  • 9 year-olds with less than three years of dance training

  • 10-year-olds with than two years of dance training              

Monday-Thursday: 10:30am-2:30pm

Friday:10:30am-12:30pm, performing at 12:30pm.

Students should pack a lunch Monday-Thursday.

Dancers are required to pack their own “stage make-up” on Thursday and Friday for practice.

Cost: $140 per week

Early Bird (register and pay by May 21st): $130 per week

Contemporary Dance Camp: Studies of Modern and Jazz Dance

June 1st-5th and June 15th-19th

Learning through dance and crafts, students will explore modern and jazz techniques, history, and choreography in this weeklong camp. Learning time includes the study of major contemporary choreographers and dancers who have shaped concert dance today. Dancers will show a short performance of their work on the Friday of each week. Please have a black outfit including black tights or leggings, and a black leotard or fitted shirt to use as the base of costumes for the end of camp performance.

 

 

Classical Ballet Dance Camp

 

June 8th-12th (Peter Pan Ballet) and June 23rd-26th (Paquita Ballet)  

Learning through crafts and dance, students will learn about the more contemporary story ballet, Peter Pan, or Classical Ballet, Paquita, during this weeklong event. Along with ballet class, students will study choreography, characters, music, composers, choreographers and dancers who have been involved with the focus ballet. Dancers will show a short performance of the ballet on the Friday of the each week. Dress code for girls includes pink tights with pink ballet slippers, or skin-colored tights with skin-colored ballet slippers and a solid color leotard. Skirts are optional. Long hair should be pulled into a bun. Boys’ dress code requires black leggings, black or skin colored ballet shoes, and a solid color shirt.

Levels III-IV Dance Camps

For ages 9-12

For dancers who have completed one year or more of level III or IV at Chattanooga Dance Theatre. Also appropriate for

  • 9-year-olds with three or more years of recent, continuous dance training

  • 10-year-olds with two or more years of recent, continuous dance training

  • 11 and 12-year-olds with less than three years of dance training

Monday-Thursday: 10am-2:30pm

Friday: 10am-12:30pm, performing at 12:30pm.

Students should pack a lunch Monday-Thursday.

Dancers are required to pack their own “stage make-up” on Thursday and Friday for practice.

 

Cost: $150 per week

Early Bird (register and pay by May 21st): $140 per week

Contemporary Dance Camp: Studies of Modern and Jazz Dance
